It took a fair amount of courage to climb as it swayed the higher you ascended and a few steps were missing near the top but the canopy birding made it worthwhile. However, it was no great surprise to hear that it was closed shortly after our visit!

Singles of this impressive species were encountered twice from canoe trips at Yuturi with the first seen at the Cariyuturi Lagoon on the 23rd and the second just downstream from the Lodge on the 25th. Superb.

A singing male was tape-lured into view on a Rio Napo Island on the 25th. Superb.

At Yuturi males were seen along the Manduro Trail on the 22nd and 28th and along the Sandy Trail on the 26th and at Yarina Lodge males were seen along the trail to the Canopy Tower on the 31st and from the top of the Canopy Tower on the 1st. Superb.
