We drove to the first locked Gate at Beidongyueshan and then walked the forest track to the tea plantation receiving a friendly welcome there. Thoroughly enjoying our time along this track finding a responsive Dusky Fulvetta, a couple of female Swinhoe's Pheasants on the track, two species of Eagle passing overhead, encountering several large mixed species flocks, enjoying good numbers of winterers including a Red-flanked Bluetail, good numbers of White's Thrushes and a couple of showy White-tailed Robins and not forgetting our first male Collared Bush Robin we spent longer than we had aniticipated. However, we decided to still return to Hehuanshan Pass where we found a male Beavan's Bullfinch at a roadside stop whilst making our ascent and were soon enjoying some photogenic male Vinaceous Rosefinches and another male Collared Bush Robin but unfortunately we all too soon ran out of daylight.
